Moving to the Delaware Watershed

I'm going to be posting photos of rock piles that are in the Delaware River watershed, over the next couple of weeks. This area is near a creek branch that runs into Cold Spring Creek, which runs into the West Branch of the Delaware River, just below the Cannonsville Reservoir.

This is just a preview of what's to come:

Is this one rock, or two?

Same picture, with some outline, added by me, so you can decide if you think it's one or two rocks:

I am familar with Indian stonework in Equinunk, PA, along the Delaware. How far is this from the site you are referring to? Driving on the NY side of the Delaware south of Equinunk about three years ago, I saw a fair number of unusual structures on the banks of the river above the road. The river banks would be a likely place to see lots of stonework.

It is 37 miles from Equinunk by road, but only about 25 miles as the crow flies. It is as far north as you can get, and still be within the Delaware watershed. Less than a mile, due north, will put you in the Susquehanna watershed. The other cairn sites, in Melondy Hill, are just to the east of this site, and are only about 5 miles away - they are also in the Susquehanna watershed. I have a nice picture of a boulder at a lookout point above the Delaware River near Equinunk. I'll post a quick picture of that one!
