Creekside

This is along a creek branch that eventually flows into the Susquehanna River.

At first the feature seemed artificial, a black form against the snow. But then as you panned around the form, it soon became clear that this was a fine standing stone -- a Manitou!

My camera doesn't take the best videos, but I couldn't resist the sound of the creek with the stone here. This Manitou is alone right here, by the creek, but just upstream is a stone wall with a short, thick section of fill and a large conglomerate with pieces of quartz in it (the wall runs parallel to the creek). Downstream there is a row of small cairns that are perpendicular to the stream and mark the boundary of State and private land. I was disappointed that I couldn't do more exploring there.
